Come join the Del Sol Quartet (www.delsolquartet.com) as they open the boundaries between stage and audience in an intimate, inspiring and fun evening of music and discussion at the Hub SOMA. The quartet members will share the secrets of their collaborative style, which they use to develop music as well as perform. Del Sol will be joined by virtuoso didgeridoo player and radio dj Stephen Kent to play a special piece by Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe. This hauntingly beautiful music is inspired by the book From Nothing to Zero, a collection of letters from asylum seekers held in Australia's detention centers. The sounds will takes you on a mesmerizing journey through loneliness, anger, yearning, trauma, and finally, freedom. Other pieces to be performed will include the world premiere of Amy X Neuburg's piece for 9-tracked violin and Persian-American Reza Vali's Calligraphy #5.
